fall again...

It's fall again...dark when I get up, dark by 8...dang.  I'm not looking forward to the cold weather. So, to bring us back from the fall funk, here are some pics from our recent summer rendezvouses...

It's been a long time...but, don't think I forgot about you.  I think about the blog every Sunday evening...and then don't do anything about it.  Dang.  A lot has happened since Easter...we went to Vegas (had a fantastic time!), our garden got bigger, we went to see Gavin's Point Dan, and I did something especially crazy...I bought this...

Made some sweet cupcakes as well as a sugar-free cake for my cousin who can't have sugar (obviously).  According to my cuz, eating too much of the sugar-free stuff will upset your tummy...but, I think he liked the cake anyway. However, he did not want to blow the candles out because when one blows them out, they spit on the cake and he did not want his spit on his own cake (if you know me...he does have a good point, I think I may steal it). He ended up taking one for the team, we (terribly & totally off key) sang happy birthday, and he blew out his candles. The cake actually tasted pretty darn good...I mean, I did make it :) We went to my aunt's today...eventful is an understatement. Never a dull moment at the Peterson's...

Kooper has recently aquired this fanaticaly crazy habit of standing at the back door and barking, jumping, and spinning in circles (we have blamed this on the recently departed one and only Zeke)...Anyways, on occasion, we feel that we can distingush between barks; cats, possums, squirels, chipmunks, and the like.  This evening (Friday), Mr. Kooper was getting especially crazy.  I looked out back (scanning for foriegn invaders...God forbid) and the dog scrambled straight to the tree along the fence line.  I was struggling to catch up (1/2 through a bottle of $2 (now $3!!) Buck Chuck and saw a freaking possum!!  Koop went up to him, the possum lunged at Koop (maybe not that dramatic, but that's how I freaking saw it okay!), I yelled (okay squealed at him), and he jumped further away from Petey the Possum (thank God).  The possum was able to run a couple of feet up the tree...I ran to get my shoes on & yelled at RB1 to get the camera.  Boom!

Hello everyone!  We hit up Chicago last weekend for a friend's surprise 30th birthday. We went to a rooftop bar to watch the Chicago Cubs win a game against the Pirates.  It was fun but cold and fun was had by all.  Bad part was waking up Sunday morning, getting ready to go to the airport to catch our flight home, & learning that our flight was cancelled due to Southwest's planes' roofs flying off...oh no! We had a good drive back to KC though...7 fabulous hours of quality time with the other half...

Last night we did it!  We had a succesful party with 18 whole people!! How exciting...Ryan and I woke up this morning feeling like solid party planners/hosts.  I'm pretty sure everyone had a pretty good time...I know Kooper did, he's barely moved all day...same for his parents...  :)
